Who We Are: SVNUI - Silicon Valley NUI
(previously known as "SBNUG - the South Bay NetWare Users Group") - is a user group
affiliated with Novell Users International. Click
here for a brief overview of the group's history.
Our mission: to provide a forum for users of Novell NetWare
(and related products) to meet and exchange ideas, information, and help, as well
as improve channels of communication between Novell and the user community.
Our Motto: "SVNUI - Information you can USE!"
What We Do: We hold monthly meetings at which members, vendors,
and prospective members can exchange ideas, information, and help. At our meetings,
we typically have a technically oriented presentation by a vendor on their products
or services. We provide a forum for you to ask questions, which will help you make
important and informed decisions regarding your own network. Many of our
presentations are created exclusively for SVNUI by Novell and other local Silicon
Valley companies, with insider technical information you literally can't and
won't hear anywhere else! We usually also have a "round table" discussion,
where you can bring your real-world, real-life questions and concerns, detail
your specific problem(s), and receive help and support from your peers. Another
popular irregular feature at our meetings is "Networking In Hell", in which
real-world networking horror stories become useful cautionary tales.
